Ethan Seow is ISACA Singapore’s 2023 Infosec Leader, ISC2 2023 APAC Rising Star Professional in Cybersecurity, TEDx and Black Hat Asia speaker, educator culture hacker and entrepreneur with over 11 years in entrepreneurship, training and education.
His passion for effective technical training led him to form a cybersecurity training organisation that has, to date, trained more than 200 individuals and supported the entry of more than 100 individuals into the industry during his time. Since then, he has taught over 500 people across military academies, organisational leadership, and different groups of people.
He is the CEO of Practical Cyber and Cyber Intel Training, two arms of cybersecurity education designed for holistic cybersecurity education. Practical Cyber focuses on educating non-IT and business personnel in organisations in cybersecurity, simplifying and making cybersecurity relevant and actionable at every level. Meanwhile, Cyber Intel Training specialises in technical cybersecurity training across different experience levels, focusing on real-world simulations and engaging pedagogy. At the same time, he’s the Director of Technology at First Experts, the sister company of the Practical Cyber and Cyber Intel Training, based in Malaysia.
Currently the director and co-founder of Centre for AI Leadership (C4AIL), a non-profit dedicated to fill in the gap in artificial intelligence regarding actionable intelligence, best practices and talent development, Ethan works with private and public organisations and top AI experts to support the next technological wave – artificial intelligence. He is also in the AI Security Working Group of the National AI Office (NAIO) of Malaysia, and is actively engaged in talks and workshops throughout the region.
He is also a lead crew of Divison Zero (Div0), Singapore’s largest cybersecurity community, and SINCON, Singapore’s top local technical conference with attendees across different public and private sector top brass.
Ethan has worked with, trained and placed people with Singapore’s Cybersecurity Agency of Singapore (CSA), Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), OT-ISAC, SMRT, Singapore Power, Energy Market Authority, GSK, Keppel Corporation, and many of Singapore’s top cybersecurity firms.
